Ground Experience
The ground experience covers everything that happens between your front door and the aircraft door, both at departure and arrival. For private aviation clients, this typically involves chauffeur transfers to the FBO, private terminal handling, expedited security and direct tarmac boarding. For commercial group charters, it includes dedicated check-in desks, organized group processing, fast-track security and coordinated coach transfers. For cargo clients, the ground experience encompasses warehouse collection, palletization, customs documentation, cargo acceptance and specialized loading at the departure airport.
Broker partners coordinate ground services as part of your overall flight arrangement. When you submit your request, you can specify ground transport preferences, VIP terminal requirements, accessibility needs or any other ground-side logistics that need to be arranged. These are communicated to the relevant service providers and confirmed before your travel date.
The quality and scope of ground services depend on the airport, the FBO or terminal facility and the local service providers available. Major international hubs typically offer a full range of options including armored vehicles, helicopter connections, private immigration processing and porter services. Smaller regional airports may have more limited infrastructure, but broker partners assess what is available at each location and recommend the best option for your itinerary.
Ground coordination also covers the arrival side. Broker partners arrange vehicle positioning, luggage handling and onward transport at the destination airport so your transition from aircraft to hotel, venue or office is managed as part of the same booking rather than left to last-minute arrangements.
Good to know
Ground services are not automatically included in every charter booking. They are complementary services that broker partners arrange upon request. If you need chauffeur transfers, VIP terminal access, helicopter connections or any other ground-side service, include these requirements in your initial flight request or add them later through your client portal.
- For private aviation, most FBOs offer complimentary basic services such as a lounge area, refreshments and luggage handling. Premium services including private suites, meeting rooms, spa facilities and dedicated concierge require advance booking and may involve additional fees determined by the terminal operator.
- For group charters, ground logistics should be planned well in advance, especially for events where hundreds of passengers arrive simultaneously. Dedicated check-in desks, branded signage and fast-track security lanes need to be reserved with the airport and handling provider, and lead times vary by location.
- For cargo shipments, ground handling is a critical part of the logistics chain. Broker partners work with certified cargo handlers at the departure and destination airports to manage palletization, screening, customs documentation and aircraft loading according to the commodity type and regulatory requirements.
