Assessing lounge eligibility for the itinerary
Airport lounge access depends on more than the airport name. The relevant terminal, operating carrier, boarding pass, travel class, membership status, guest policy, flight timing and connection sequence may all affect eligibility. Independent lounges may apply different rules from airline or alliance facilities, while some locations do not accept advance reservations or external guests. A Broker Partner can review the declared itinerary and request suitable options, but only the lounge operator or authorized access provider can confirm admission for the named passengers and travel date.
- Terminal and itinerary match: Provide every flight number, operating carrier, airport, terminal and local time because a lounge located elsewhere in the airport may be impractical or inaccessible for the proposed journey.
- Eligibility evidence: Declare ticket class, same-day boarding passes, memberships, loyalty status, payment cards and guest numbers accurately, while recognizing that each lounge applies its own admission rules and verification process.
- Alternative facility type: Where a commercial-terminal lounge does not fit the flight, a VIP terminal may be assessed separately, subject to the airport, aircraft operation, handling arrangements and provider confirmation.
Capacity, timing and access conditions
Admission remains subject to the lounge's opening hours, capacity controls, permitted stay, age policy, guest limits and any advance-notice or payment requirements. A reservation, membership or qualifying ticket may not guarantee entry when operational restrictions apply, and access conditions can change before travel. Arrival, departure and connection access may also follow different rules. The request should therefore identify the intended entry time, expected duration, passenger group and onward sector, enabling a Broker Partner to seek current terms and applicable written confirmation from the responsible provider.
- Opening and access window: Ask whether the lounge accepts departing, arriving or connecting passengers at the required time and whether a maximum stay, earliest entry time or same-day travel condition applies.
- Group size and guests: State the complete passenger group, adults, minors and accompanying guests because individual eligibility does not necessarily extend to companions, and group admission may require separate approval or payment.
- Connection planning: Allow sufficient time for terminal changes, security and border formalities; fast-track services may be requested separately, but availability and processing remain controlled by providers and competent authorities for the specific movement.
Facilities, food and working requirements
Lounge facilities vary by location, operating period and access category. Seating, showers, rest areas, workspaces, charging points, connectivity, food and beverages may be limited, temporarily unavailable or subject to separate booking and charges. Descriptions and photographs should not be treated as confirmation for a particular visit. Passengers with dietary, allergen, accessibility, privacy or business requirements should disclose them in advance. The Broker Partner may request current information, but the lounge operator and relevant suppliers determine what can be provided and under which conditions in writing.
- Food and allergens: Provide dietary preferences and allergen information, recognizing that menus, ingredients, preparation areas, labeling and segregation are controlled by the lounge or caterer. Review in-flight catering separately for food requested aboard the aircraft.
- Showers and rest spaces: Request showers, quiet areas or rest facilities explicitly, while treating availability, cleanliness schedules, waiting lists, time limits, reservations, amenities and additional charges as matters for provider confirmation.
- Workspace and connectivity: State whether seating, charging, internet access or a meeting space matters, without assuming bandwidth, privacy, sound insulation, cybersecurity, confidentiality, exclusive use or uninterrupted service within a shared lounge.
Requesting lounge access through the Platform
A useful request combines the complete itinerary with passenger numbers, eligibility credentials, preferred access times and any essential facility requirements. IONA JETS transmits that information through its referral Platform to participating vetted Broker Partners, who independently decide whether to respond. A responding Broker Partner may identify access channels, contact providers and include relevant terms in a proposal. Before proceeding, the Client should review the named provider, eligibility basis, inclusions, exclusions, price, cancellation conditions and written confirmation, while retaining all documents required for admission before travel.
- Information to submit: Include flight details, terminals, dates, local times, passenger ages, guest numbers, memberships, ticket or status information, intended lounge duration and any accessibility, dietary or facility requirements already known.
- Proposal review: Check the proposed lounge, terminal, access basis, responsible provider, included guests, visit window, facilities, charges, cancellation terms and evidence each passenger must present at reception before travel is confirmed.
- Independent decision: IONA JETS verifies Broker Partners before network participation, while the Client remains responsible for comparing proposals, checking the identified contractual parties and deciding whether the documented arrangement is suitable.
